Power Behind the Ford Taurus
Think you have what it takes to design some of the car models by some of the world’s largest automotive manufacturers? Check out an interview with Crissy Rodriguez, the only female Advanced Vehicle Dynamics Development Engineer with Ford and the powerhouse behind the 2010 Ford Taurus and the 2013 Ford Fusion.
Rodriguez knows her cars and appreciates how a combination of mechanical inclination and the ‘feel’ of the car contributes to the overall design. After completing an internship with Ford and a career that stretches over a decade, she was named as the lead suspension development engineer on the Taurus and Taurus X vehicle lines. Her responsibilities include managing the tradeoffs between ride qualities and handling responsiveness, in addition to steering calibration and “feel.”
