This experiment was fantastic and got better the more we played around with it! Simply fill a glass container or vase about two thirds full with water. Then spray a layer of shaving cream on top of the water. Because the shaving cream is less dense, it will float. Then mix food coloring in separate containers with water. We used red, green, and blue. Pour the colored water on the shaving cream and watch the magic happen. The water pulls the shaving cream down initially, but the shaving cream will travel back towards the surface because of the difference in density.
